My wife and I are working through 2 Timothy with a younger couple. At the same time, I'm trying to commit the whole book to memory together with my good friend and brother in Christ, Edward. Man, the last couple of verses seem the toughest!
2 Timothy became one of my favourite books of the Bible, after I first heard it expounded at a UCCF Leaders' Retreat in the UK. The year was 1998.. and it was a defining time in my understanding of the importance of sound doctrine and handling the Word of God properly..
It is thus really exciting to hear that The Gospel Coalition's next Conference in April next year will mainly involve working through 2 Timothy during the plenaries. The line-up is stellar.. Sighs, if only Chicago weren't half way around the world from where I come from :-) Anyways, check out these promo videos.. funny how there is already a didactic element in these.. he he..

Well, you can always try memorizing Romans. I "got stuck" at chapter 2, verse 12. Maybe I should restart soon. =)
