PASSION 268 - KL & JAKARTA

Many in Singapore would be familiar with the Passion Movement through the songs that they have brought to our churches. "How Great is Our God", "Indescribable","Blessed be the Name of the Lord", "Famous One" etc. have become mainstay in many churches of different persuasions here.

What is perhaps lesser known is that Passion is behind a firey brand of God-centred, God-honoring, Christ-exalting and Man-humbling Christianity that is spreading among young, late teens to twenty-somethings in the US. Men like John Piper are mainstay speakers at Passion Conferences. Colin Hansen talks about them in Young, Restless and Reformed.

"Finding in Christ all we need, and spending our lives to make Him famous in this generation... that's what The Passion Movement is all about and what has attracted hundreds of thousands of university aged young people to Passion gatherings over the past eleven years."

- Louie Giglio, Passion

These guys have Isaiah 26:8 burned into their hearts "Yes, Lord, walking in the way of Your Truth,we wait eagerly for You,for Your name and Your renown are the desire of our souls."
Starting this year, Passion has gone global. Unfortunately, they won't be making it to Singapore, but they will be swinging by very nearby - Kuala Lumpur, 3 August and Jakarta, 5 August. More details on their Worldtour Website. This is good stuff. Might not agree with everything, and I am overaged [their target group is 18 - 25].. but good stuff nonetheless.. Here's one of their newest anthems.. God of this City..

Arghh.... why must it be in KL? I don't really like to travel to M'sia... I don't exactly fancy the security situation there either. Btw, Huai Zhi, are you going for it?
